Climate, Pichetto “The crisis is not resolved by decree, serves a unitary spirit”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “We know that we have to do more, especially on the face of adaptation, but it is important to recognize the work done. To say that on the climate this government has done nothing corresponds to the facts.” The Minister for Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, said this in an interview with La Repubblica newspaper.

“Since we have installed renewable sources for more than 14 GW over the last two years. And from the beginning of the legislature we are at a total of 28 GW, a record compared to all previous governments – he explains -. As for the adaptation we approved the Pnacc in 2023, after years of gestation. It is a set of measures, some of which have been financed here. The planting of 3 million and a half trees of which my ministry has occupied, for example, or the energy efficiency of the buildings of public housing with an expense of one billion and 950 million at the head of the Mit”.

On the Green Deal the minister reiterated that “it is excessively ideological, to the point that it did not foresee the damage it would do: it destroyed an area like the automotive in Germany, which automatically means destroying it in Italy”. As to the proposal for a bipartisan climate agreement, by Antonio Scurati on the pages of La Repubblica, Pichetto Fratin explains: “If we are really convinced that climate change represents a national priority, we should face it with a united spirit. Without thinking that this government can solve with a magic wand a problem that has planetary dimensions.”.

For the minister “there are actions that do not only concern the central government, but also involve the regions and territories. And that also affects individual behaviors. Unfortunately, all this is not solved by a decree that makes rain or rain less.”.
