ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “It is a time when we have to find a spirit of cohesion and have respect for the work done. If you really care about the movement, it is right to discuss and reason about the future. But we must avoid public conflicts and confusion. The comparison is useful when it builds, not when it divides.” Thus the president of the House, Lorenzo Fontana, in an interview with Il Giornale answering a question about the League.
“In the League brotherhood and mutual respect have always been fundamental values. Our voters have little interest in personal diatribes: they are interested in ideas, territories and the ability to give answers,” he says. “When Matteo Salvini took over the party, the League was considered by many now dead. Being a party leader for so many years involves a huge effort and Salvini continues to spend,” he explains.
“History teaches us that there are no immune leaders from mistakes: perfection is not of this world. but this cannot become an alibi to fuel confusion,” Fontana recalls. “Creating divisions within an important political movement really seems counterproductive. There are too great challenges and threats to divide one another.”.
