GINEVRA (SVIZZERA) (ITALPRESS) – Kamel Ghribi, President of GKSD and Vice-President of San Donato Group, met in Geneva the Director General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, for a comparison of the main challenges of global health and the evolution of national health systems. At the centre of the interview, we read in a note, the need to strengthen access to quality care, the training of health personnel and the ability of national systems to respond to the needs of people, with particular attention to Africa and areas most exposed to situations of fragility. During the meeting, the excellent quality of Italian health was also discussed. The WHO Director-General also congratulated Ghribi and the San Raffaele Hospital for the humanitarian initiative promoted by GSD and GKSD in support of the Lebanese population, which provides for the sending of medicines, supplies and medical equipment and the provision of qualified health skills. “The comparison with Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was particularly important because he confirmed how much health today represents one of the great global issues – said Ghribi. I particularly appreciated the recognition of the value of the initiative that, with the San Raffaele, we are promoting for Lebanon. In times of difficulty, solidarity must be translated into concrete actions.” Ghribi and Adhanom Ghebreyesus have finally deepened the challenges facing healthcare systems, from prevention to research, from innovation to training professionals, sharing the importance of investing in the skills and quality of care. “Health is a universal right and one of the fundamental infrastructures of human development – Gaddabi concluded – Investing in people, knowledge and quality of care means helping to build stronger, more stable and able societies to look to the future.”.
