Free way to reform of the fuel network, Urso “Historical Time”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Free Way of the Council of Ministers, on a proposal from the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, to the reform of the fuel distribution network, contained in the annual bill 2026 for the market and competition.

“It is a historical breakthrough, a reform that has been waiting for years for a strategic sector of our country. We maintain the commitment with the supply chain and intervene at the right time to accompany the sector in its transformation,” said Urso.

The reform starts the rationalization of the network, favoring the closure or conversion of the obsolete and low-provided plants towards biofuels and electricity charging. Since 2028, in order to obtain a new authorization, the plants will also have to offer at least one alternative power solution to fossil fuels.

To support the transformation is established a 120 million Fund for the three-year period 2028-2030, intended for the conversion of plants and compensation for managers who do not continue the activity. Simplified procedures, stricter requirements and greater controls are also provided, together with measures to safeguard the continuity of service in the internal areas and the smaller islands.

The reform also makes contractual relationships more stable and transparent, introducing minimum guarantees for managers, conditions defined through comparison between parties and sanctions for the use of non-compliant contractual forms. “We introduce clear rules, effective guarantees and more balanced conditions,” said Urso.
