Infancy and teens: signed the framework agreement between CNOP and Save the Children for the psychological well-being of minors

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The National Council of the Order of Psychologists (CNOP) and Save the Children, have signed a three-year framework agreement for the promotion of psychological well-being and the protection of the rights of children, adolescents and families, with particular attention to the vulnerable groups and pregnant women and the perinatal period. The understanding establishes the scientific and professional skills of the Italian psychologist community and the experience in the field of the Organization engaged in the defense of child rights.

Among the areas of collaboration: early prevention from the first thousand days of life, support for parenthood and perinatality, contrast to educational poverty, violence and neglect, the formation of psychologists, educators and teachers, research and production of shared guidelines to promote conscious and responsible use of technologies by the younger.

“The psychological health of children and girls is built from the first thousand days of life, in relationships, families, school, communities. With Save the Children we combine the scientific appropriateness of psychology in the concrete presence in the territories where discomfort arises and grows, often in silence. It is an alliance that speaks to institutions: investing in prevention and psychological support for children is not a cost, it is the most far-sighted of public policies. No child, no family must remain alone in the face of discomfort,” says Maria Antonietta Gulino, President of the CNOP.

“The signed agreement is an important step to consolidate collaboration with CNOP, an authoritative partner with whom we share the commitment to promoting the psychological and psychosocial well-being of girls, children and adolescents. We are convinced that, thanks to the skills and experiences of our realities, we can develop concrete synergies and contribute to spreading the culture of psychological and psychosocial well-being linked to the rights of childhood and adolescence in society and at an institutional level,” says Giorgia D’Errico, Director of the Institutional Relations of Save the Children.
