ROMA (ITALPRESS) – UniCredit has renewed its support for FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano ETS, non-profit foundation dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the historical, cultural and environmental heritage of Italy. That’s what you read in a note. “Forty of its fruitful collaboration with FAI, in 2026 UniCredit will promote environmental protection projects, climate adaptation and conservation of biodiversity in some Assets managed by the Foundation, while at the same time helping to raise awareness of the importance of sustainability and biodiversity.” UniCredit’s reiterated support will strengthen FAI’s commitment to the fight against climate crisis and contribute to its broader activity programme, which provides investment for over 1 million euros in 2026.
This year Fai and Unicredit will cooperate for energy efficiency measures aimed at reducing CO2 emissions by 35% by 2030 (compared to the levels of 2022) in different FAI Heritage, including the installation of heat pumps at the Avio Castle in Sabbionara d’Avio (Trento) and Villa del Balbianello in Tremezzina (Como), in addition to improvements of energy efficiency at Villa Della.
Among these, the creation of a orchard at the Castle of Manta in Manta (Cuneo), the analysis of soil and the monitoring of biodiversity in selected FAI Heritage, the monitoring of avian fauna at the Bay of Ieranto in Massa Lubrense (Napoli) and the Giants of Sila in Spezzano della Sila (Cosenza), as well as the preservation of projects dedicated to beekeeping in different properties; for educational activities The partnership is part of UniCredit’s broadest ESG strategy and reflects the bank’s commitment to initiatives that generate a positive and lasting impact for local communities and contribute to shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.
