Mattarella “Morti on the wounded work for the whole community”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The final report of the Commission of Inquiry on working conditions in Italy offers a disamination of the facts and causes at the base of the tragedy that took place in Casteldaccia on 6 May 2024, providing proposals for improving safety conditions at work in confined spaces. It is a good, that of life, that must be protected in an absolute way and cannot represent the price to be able to carry out a job”. This is said by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent to the president of the parliamentary commission of inquiry on working conditions in Italy, Chiara Gribaudo.

“The lives broken in Casteldaccia in May two years ago, like all tragic accidents at the workplace, constitute a wound for the whole community and play a constant warning, as again and recently, for institutions and social partners on the need to take increasingly effective and innovative measures to guarantee the safety of each worker, paying particular attention to the importance of risk prevention – adds the head of the state –. In renewing the proximity of the Republic to the families of the five deceased workers and to those of all the other workers affected daily by this scourge, I once again urge institutions and social partners to the maximum commitment in contrast to accidents at work.”.
