Leonardo, from the Avincis group an order for 15 helicopters

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Avincis – a leading player in the supply of emergency air services – has announced orders for 15 helicopters of Leonardo, including ten AW169 and five AW139, with deliveries expected in the period 2028-2031, in support of both existing customers and entry into new markets in Europe. The commission – read in a note – is part of the Avincis program of “modernization and strengthening of its helicopter fleet” and in line with “its long-term growth strategy in the field of rescue and offshore transport to support the energy industry“.

Three of the ten AW169 will be risked in Sweden in eligical configuration, to operate in the regions of Uppsala and Vastra Gotalandsregionen under a ten-year contract assigned to Avincis by the local authorities. The program confirms the confidence expressed by the market towards the extraordinary operational capabilities of this helicopter model, able to carry out with great reliability fundamental missions to protect life and in complex conditions with high response capacity, benefiting from technologies and systems of navigation and advanced missions, high performance and a versatile cabin. The new orders also demonstrate Leonardo’s continued growth in helicopter success for the entire spectrum of tasks requiring prompt response and emergencies: health care, research and rescue on land and at sea.

There are over 800 helicopters of Leonardo that today carry out these missions in the world, in particular the models AW139 and AW169. With a growing eligibility market and increasingly oriented towards larger aircraft with greater load capacity, the AW169 and the AW139 prove to be a benchmark for operators looking for greater performance, more space in the cabin and more operational flexibility. With total orders close to 400 units for each type of mission, the presence of the AW169 continues to grow grace to its versatility and unique features, including the presence of an Apu-type power system (Auxiliary Power Unit) Mode that allows you to provide energy to the air conditioning system, electromedical systems and radios when the helicopter is on the ground with the steady rotors: this capacity assures an optimization of the use of the time greater. The AW139 remains world-class leader in its weight/size category, and one of the most successful helicopter programs for the entire industry, with over 1,500 units sold to more than 300 operators in about 90 countries and for multiple operational roles. The transmission of the helicopter is able to continue working even in the absence of oil for more than 60 minutes, unique feature that offers greater reliability and safety, especially in medium and long-range missions.
