ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, met today at Palazzo Piacentini Jens Pii Olesen, Vice President and General Manager of Novo Nordisk Italia, and the Extraordinary Commissioner of Government for the project of Anagni and President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca. At the heart of the meeting the investment programme promoted by Novo Nordisk for the extension of the production site on the territory, intended for the processing and production of drugs against chronic diseases, through highly technological plants and great attention to environmental sustainability and the development of the territory. The site will be an important development hub for new obesity treatments, in line with the company’s commitment to the innovation of care for people with obesity in Italy. In the course of the meeting, the company confirmed the desire to proceed with the industrial development plan, whose value is currently estimated in more than a billion euros and which should generate important employment relapses on the territory, with about 400 new direct jobs.
The project obtained recognition of national strategicity by deliberation of the Council of Ministers of 13 March 2025. Subsequently, with DPCM of 9 April 2025, President Rocca was appointed extraordinary commissioner, in order to ensure the coordination and acceleration of the procedures necessary for the realization of the investment. The meeting today renews the commitment of Novo Nordisk “to make Italy one of the main productive poles of the Group internationally and confirms the strategic role of the territory and the country in the field”.
