ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “In this month of May the whole Church has raised a choral call for peace. Especially through the prayer of the Holy Rosary, as an uninterrupted chain has entrusted to the intercession of the Virgin Mary the peoples hammered by war. May the divine Wisdom enlighten the conscience of those who have authority and direct decisions towards the sincere search for a just and lasting peace.” Pope Leo said at the end of the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square.
“Dearly, in the Mystery of God, Father and Son and Holy Spirit, we are at home, as Nicodemus felt at home with Jesus. The life of God is wonderful and engaging, gives peace to our heart, often so restless, and makes us meet brothers and sisters in the joy of the Spirit. The Trinity makes us love everything and everyone: we discover that every creature is made for communion, relationship, encounter. And, by contrast, we understand why the divisions, the polarizations, the disdain of diversity lead in the world destruction, sadness and aridity”, the Pontiff said. “Nicodemo was part of the Sanhedrin, the Council of the leaders of Israel – the Holy Father added –. When in the Sanhedrin he heard words of contempt for Jesus, he invited everyone to listen to him before condemning him. He had received from God, through Christ himself, the Spirit of communion, which opens the heart to the new truth and to the true novelty. Whoever does not accept this Spirit grows old soon, in the lament; he is alone, never has the soul at feast. Today, however, dear brothers and sisters, is a feast! The feast of God is our feast. This is why St. Paul writes to the Corinthians: “Be joyful, strive to perfection, be courageous to each other, have the same feelings, live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you.” ”.
