ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In March 2026, the seasonal index of production in buildings decreases compared to the previous month, recording the fifth consecutive decline and placing at the lowest level from August 2025. Also on a quarterly basis the dynamics of the economy is negative. A slight decline in March 2025 also characterizes the correct index for calendar effects. It says an Istat survey on construction production in March.
In March 2026 it is estimated that the seasonal index of production in buildings decreased by 0.7% compared to February. On the average of the first quarter of 2026 production in buildings decreases by 2.0% in comparison with the previous quarter.
On a curtain basis, the crude index recorded an increase of 4.4% in March 2026, while the correct index for calendar effects shows a decline of 0.2% (the calendar working days were 22 against 21 March 2025).
In the first quarter of this year the crude index increased by 0.4%, while the correct index for calendar effects grew by 0.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
