Energy transition and carbon credit: the CGIE webinar on opportunities for Italian companies worldwide

On Tuesday, April 28th at 16:00 the international webinar organized by the Fifth Thematic Commission “Promotion system Country abroad and Made il Italy” of the General Council of Italians abroad, chaired by Massimo Romagnoli, entitled “The new economy of carbon – Transition energy, Directive RED III and Carbon Credit”, dedicated to the opportunities of the energy transition for Italian companies worldwide.

The initiative was born with the aim of deepening the changes taking place in the global economy related to environmental sustainability, new carbon markets and European energy policies, with particular attention to the role that Italians can play abroad and the system of Italian companies in international markets.

The webinar will see the participation of the General Secretariat of CGIE Maria Chiara Prodi, which will open the works with an intervention dedicated to the role of Italian communities in the world in the economic and environmental transition. Among the speakers, Massimo Romagnoli will illustrate the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition for Italian companies globally together with the expert in the Giulia Sirigu sector, which will deepen the impact of new European energy policies on the production system.

Sergio Pellerey, carbon manager and COO of DKS Fuels GmbH, will also offer a technical focus on carbon credits and tools available to companies to calculate and compensate for their carbon footprint. An international look will be brought by the Italian ambassador to Singapore Dante Brandi, who will illustrate Asian strategies in carbon markets and opportunities related to the development of sustainable economic models. The debate will end with a discussion on the role of Italians abroad in the new sustainable economy with the interventions of Giovanni D’Angelo and Massimo Romagnoli.

The members of the Fifth Thematic Commission of CGIE Barbara Sorce, Raimondo Pancrazio and Vincenzo Zaccarini have contributed to the organization of the initiative, while moderation and coordination are entrusted to the Vice-President of the Commission Monica Spadafora.
