More contained the increase on gasoline (+200 million) and GPL and methane for autotraction (+30 million) – emphasizes the association of category -. Italy is on the podium of the ranking of increments with a rise of 31%, exceeded by Germany and Austria while for gasoline the price to the pump in Italy has recorded more contained increases (around 8%) compared to Germany, Austria, Finland, France and Spain. Also for the incoming gas”.

Based on the prevalence of contracts at tariffs indexed in the period March-May, CNA estimates “a greater expense for enterprises and families around 3 billion euros while for the total electricity rise of approximately 2.2 billion euros. The higher costs for fuels and energy generate an extra jet VAT exceeding one billion euros.”.

“If the conflict in the Gulf ended today the higher energy and fuel spending would exceed €7 billion – says CNA President Dario Costantini – confirming Italy among the most vulnerable countries in Europe to the volatility of energy quotations. The total return of the VAT extraject is essential to partially alleviate waste but it is necessary to start a reform in order to reduce structurally the cost of energy, in particular for small enterprises that bear bills where the energy component is only 50% of the total cost.”.
