An evening of sports and the Italian community in the United States animated Los Angeles with the debut in the California city of Italy-America All Star Game, the basketball game of the Italian-American community, played for the first time at the Intuit Dome, the new arena of Los Angeles Clippers.
Born as a meeting and celebration of the Italian-American community, Italy-America All Star Game over the years has become an event capable of bringing together institutions, professionals, entrepreneurs and protagonists of the cultural world, contributing to strengthen the links between Italy and the United States through the universal language of sport. In the pre-department the performance of the singer-songwriter Cristiano Cosa who interpreted a medley of the Italian song, much appreciated by spectators.
The evening was attended by numerous personalities from the institutional world and the show, including the Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles Raffaella Valentini, Oscar Jonathan Sanger, actress Cristiana Dell’Anna, singer Shelea, actor Jacopo Rampini and the Olympic champion Alessandro Campagna.
The stage in Los Angeles, which follows the two previous editions organized in Detroit, takes on a particularly significant value. In addition to the sports challenge on the parquet flooring of an NBA arena, the event has been confirmed as an important moment of networking between institutions, entrepreneurs and professionals engaged every day in the realization of cultural and creative projects between the two countries, in a city that represents one of the main global centers of the film industry.
“It’s how this shows how sport can be an extraordinary tool for connecting communities,” said Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles, Raffaella Valentini. «The Italy-America All Star Game is a meeting point for the Italian-American community and at the same time a precious opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between Italy and the United States, also through the worlds of culture, enterprise and creative industry».
Great satisfaction also by the organizer Emanuele Scamardella, promoter of the initiative: “I’m very proud to be here on the Los Angeles Clippers field during the Oscar week. Right after the NBA game it was our turn to play. In the field there was a mix of Italians, Italians and Americans, all representatives of the same community. Our goal is to export this community model built around sports and health. On this occasion, in fact, we also offered the community the possibility to carry out free health screening thanks to the collaboration with Campus Salute”.
