We are working with other partners to achieve the strategic autonomy of the continent.” So the Minister of Enterprise, Adolfo Urso, in an interview with La Stampa, on the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court on duties.
A judgment underlines that “it was in the air for a long time. The reaction of the markets confirms it.” On the emergency task force meeting, he added: “It was good for Minister Tajani to call her to listen to her. For our part as always there is the maximum support. There is no emergency, but it needs to act as a country system.”.
And as for Trump’s announcement of new duties at 15% for all, Urso declares: “I believe they are transitional measures pending other interventions, with other legal bases. In principle, if so, 15 percent for all, it would reduce the competitive advantage that the Union has acquired with the negotiated solution to China and other countries that had higher rates, and that the Supreme Court decision has cancelled. We will evaluate with other partners what to do to better address the Commission, always consensually and with negotiating perspectives. No escape forward.”.
