In November retail sales are growing: +1.3% per year

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In November 2025 retail sales record, compared to the previous month, growth in both value and volume (respectively +0.5% and +0.6%). It makes Istat known.

The increase concerns both food (+0.5% in value and volume) and non-food goods (+0.7% in value and volume). In the quarter of September – November 2025, in conjunctural terms, retail sales recorded an increase in value (+0.1%) and a decrease in volume (-0.1%).

Sales of food see a slight increase in value (+0.1%) and a decrease in volume (-0.2%), while those of non-food goods are increasing both in value and in volume (respectively +0.2% and +0.1%). On a yearly basis, in November 2025, retail sales recorded an increase of 1.3% in value and 0.5% in volume. Sales of foodstuffs increase in value (+1.3%) and decrease in volume (-0.5%) while non-food goods increase in value (+1.4%) and in volume (+1.1%). With regard to non-food products, there are tendencies mainly positive among the various groups of products.

The greatest increase is the Products of perfumery, care of the person (+5.9%), while the biggest decline is observed for the Other products (-0.4%). Compared to November 2024, the value of retail sales is increasing for large distribution (+2.1%) and electronic commerce (+8.3%), while recording a decline for businesses operating on small surfaces (-0.5%) and sales outside stores (-1.9%).

Compared to last year, the value of sales is growing exclusively for large distribution and online commerce; The latter, in particular, sees the most significant increase since March 2023′′.
