In November inflation slows down, +1.1% per year: Istat data

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In November 2025, the national consumer price index for the entire community (NIC), to the gross of tabac-chi, shows a change of -0.2% on a monthly basis and +1.1% on an annual basis (from +1.2% of the previous month); the preliminary estimate was +1.2%. It makes Istat known.

The slight deceleration of inflation is mainly due to slowing down, on a tendential basis, of the prices of the Services relating to the transport (from +2% to +0.9%), of the non-worked food (from +1.9% to +1.1%), of the processed food (from +2.5% to +2.1%), of the recreational, cultural and for the care of the person (from +3.3% to +3%), to which is added the These effects are only partly offset by the recovery of non-regulated energy prices (from -4.9% to -4.3%). The “bottom inflation”, net of fresh energy and food, slows down, as well as that net of only energy goods (both from +1.9% to +1.7%).

The tendential growth of the prices of the goods decreases from +0.2% to +0.1%, that of the services from +2.6% to +2.3%. Therefore, the inflation differential between the service sector and that of goods decreases, leading to +2.2 percentage points (from +2.4 percentage points of the previous month). In slowing down the prices of food goods, for the care of the house and the person (from +2.1% to +1.5%) and those of the products with high frequency of purchase (from +2.1% to +2%).

The negative economic change of the general index reflects above all the decrease in the prices of recreational, cultural services and for the care of the person and those of the Transport Services (respectively -1.6% and -1.3% especially for seasonal effects), only partly offset by the increase in the prices of non-regulated energy (+0.7%) and unworked food (+0.4%). Inflation acquired for 2025 is +1.5% for the general index and +1.8% for the underlying component. The harmonised consumer price index (IPCA) shows a change of -0.2% on a monthly basis and +1.1% on a yearly basis (lowering by +1.3% of the previous month), confirming the preliminary estimate. The national consumer price index for households of workers and employees (FOI), net of tobaccos, records a change of -0.1% and a +1% trend.

“Inflation falls to 1.1% in November 2025, the lowest level recorded since January – comments Istat –. The general index dynamic affects the effects due to the slowdown in prices of unworked food (+1.1% from +1.9%), regulated energy (-3.2% from -0.5%) and certain types of services, in particular transport (+0.9% from +2.0%), only partially offset by the decrease in those of unregulated energy (-4.3% from -4.9%). It reduces the annual growth rate of the “expenditure cart” (+1.5% by +2.1%), while the underlying inflation is at +1.7% (from +1.9%)”.
