ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Innovation, dialogue with consumers and institutions, new investments in Italy. These are the pillars of Japan Tobacco International’s strategy. Adriana Valle, Corporate Affairs and Communication Director of JTI Italia, in an interview with Claudio Brachino for the Italpress Economy TV magazine.
Japan Tobacco International is a multinational company operating in tobacco and nicotine products, present in over 128 countries. A global giant that sees in Italy a strategic market, especially with regard to innovative products.
“Italy is an important market from this point of view, the consumer has shown a great propensity to innovation and these products have already started for 10 years,” explains Valle.
Vision and future are the key words that guide JTI’s strategy. “Innovation is trying to even try to anticipate the needs of our consumers to meet their needs – the manager points out. The consumer is increasingly aware, so he has new needs to respond to.”
For JTI innovating means never stopping. A vision based on research and development and long years of product testing. This is how the company arrived at the launch of Ploom Aura, the new device that was the result of years of consumer study and its needs. “The product combines advanced technology, heated tobacco and design, with a distinctive element: customization – says Valle -. Through a dedicated app, the consumer can fully customize its experience of use, from duration to intensity, to the possibility of blocking the device remotely. A series of features that make the experience more responsive to the daily needs of users. The first market evidence shows excellent reactions by consumers.”
The company has renewed the agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty for the purchase of Italian tobacco, an understanding that JTI has been carrying out for almost 20 years and that mainly concerns the regions Umbria and Veneto: “It is very important for us because it confirms JTI’s will to invest in the country – highlights the Corporate Affairs Director of JTI Italia -. For us it is a fundamental asset.”
“We must dialogue not only with the consumer but also with the institutions – he continues. A dialogue that serves to bring data and facts about what is changing in the sector. Even through these evidences we hope to see an evolution in legislation that takes into account the effort that the sector is making to improve.”.
