The Grow Together Foundation announces its first Christmas Charity Lunch in New York

On Sunday, December 14, the Grow Together Foundation, led by President Don Luigi Portarulo, will organize its first Christmas Charity Lunch aboard the elegant MSC Wonder, docked at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The event marks the official debut of the Foundation in New York, bringing together supporters, donors and community members for a celebration of generosity, unity and hope.

“I am deeply happy to start this initiative, which represents the beginning of a concrete path of solidarity and participation. We want this first beneficial lunch to bring together different background people, united by the desire to do good. The Grow Together Foundation is born from our Catholic roots and the belief that each person deserves dignity, opportunity and a sense of belonging. Here in New York we intend to build a network of educational, sports and social projects that offer everyone the opportunity to contribute to the common good. This event is only the first step of a journey that we hope will continue to grow and inspire”, said Don Luigi Portarulo, president of the Grow Together Foundation.

The celebration will host the actress Alessandra Mastronardi, among the most beloved figures of Italian cinema, who will join Don Luigi Portarulo in a conversation dedicated to the mission of the Foundation, its impact and vision for the future.

The Italian football champion Giuseppe “Pepito” Rossi will also participate, present as a special guest, witnessing the strong commitment of the Foundation in the world of sport and support for young people.

“I’m really happy to be part of this initiative,” said Pepito Rossi. «The community has a huge role in the growth of a child. This project gives the children of every origin and with every need the opportunity to get involved. Just like the Church, sport has the power to unite people and strengthen our ties. I hope this event is only the beginning of many projects dedicated to young people here in New York”.

In recent months the Grow Together Foundation has launched several programs that have already had a concrete impact — including language courses for children and adults, afternoon tutoring, day camp for children, health initiatives and a pilgrimage in Rome. Each project reflects the Foundation’s mission: strengthen communities, support young people and inspire hope.

During the Christmas Lunch, Don Luigi Portarulo and the Foundation team will present the results of the last year and announce the planned projects for 2026, dedicated to the support of children and families in difficulty in New York.

The event will also include a charity auction, whose proceeds will be for the Foundation’s educational and community development programmes. Guests can also participate in a festive day, with entertainment dedicated to children from 5 to 11 years — turning the initiative into a true celebration of solidarity and sharing.
