The event also saw the support of the Order’s Vice President, Moreno Zanardo, as moderator, and the Working Group for the Order’s Gender Equity. “With today’s event, the ideal continuation of the congress organized on the occasion of last March 8, the Order reconfirms its attention to the issue of gender medicine and the fairness of care,” says the President, Diego Catania. “We considered it important to grant our patronage and our full support to the initiative, aware that the foundations of a truly inclusive health system are built from the formation of Health Professionals.”.

The conference, organized by the Scientific Managers Silvia Bargeri and Tiziana Rumi, recalls from the title the synergy between different professions, and has seen the patronage also of the Order of Physiotherapists of Milan, Como, Cremona, Lecco, Lodi, Monza Brianza, Sondrio and Varese and of the Order of Professionals of Milan, Lodi and Monza Brianza, as well as of the Italian Association of Physiotherapy During the morning of formation, introduced by the greetings of Melanie Hyde, Referent of the program of Equality of Genre, Equity of the Hearts and Human Rights of the World Health Organization, the multidisciplinary approach has found expression in a multiplicity of interventions and points of view, able to illuminate the theme of the fairness of care from different perspectives.

From the considerations on the state of art in Italy to the point of view of scientific societies, to the role of women in institutional and managerial roles, to the challenges and opportunities of AI and to the measures of contrast to violence, the first part of the conference offered a transversal view of the criticalities to be faced and the strengths on which to focus. The session was moderated by Vice President Zanardo and Prof. Giuseppe Banfi, Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele and Scientific Director of the IRCCCS Hospital Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio. “ Gender studies are acquiring, rightly, an increasing importance in defining future health system guidelines,” says Prof. Banfi. “Healthy Professions must play a central role in the change in place, and the establishment of dedicated working groups within the Order is the ideal tool for this responsibility.”.

The second part of the conference, moderated by Rossella Tomaiuolo and Elena Bottinelli, focused on several clinical cutting insights, highlighting the need to consider gender variables in diagnostics and treatment approaches, adopting flexible and inclusive systems and tools. In the face of the many challenges raised by the training day, the Order launches an exhortation to the common commitment for a fair right to health. “The call to gender equity, without an appropriate investment of time, resources and training, risks to be reduced to an empty formula,” says Fabio Corbino, Referent of the Working Group for the Order’s Gender Equity. “The initiatives that consolidate the synergy between institutions and scientific societies are well, creating the networks and resources necessary to foster a concrete change in the National Health Service.”.
