EU, Urso “For industry it is necessary to act now, in a cohesive and determined way”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, will be on Monday in Berlin where he will take part in the eighth edition of the meeting “Friends of Industry”, an event that brings together representatives of the EU States who share a pragmatic view of European industrial policy.

The aim of this new edition of the forum, promoted by Germany, is to start joint initiatives for a more resilient, innovative and competitive European industry, capable of responding to global geopolitical tensions, to the challenges of the dual digital and environmental transition and to strengthen European companies.

“We need an ambitious and pragmatic Europe, able to protect and strengthen its industry without sacrificing sustainability. We must act now, in a cohesive and determined way, to defend European competitiveness and give strength to our enterprises in the global context,” said Minister Urso. The meeting will be attended by delegations from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain, as well as the Executive Vice-President of the EU Commission for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, Stéphane Séjourné.

At the heart of the debate, the revival of European leadership in the dual, green and digital transition, and the strengthening of instruments to protect the competitiveness of enterprises and chains of industrial value. On these strategic dossiers, Italy and Germany share a pragmatic and reforming line, confirming the increasingly central and favourable role of our Country on the European scenario. Given several bilateral meetings for Minister Urso on the edge of the meeting.

In particular, an interview with the Federal Minister of Economy and Energy, Katherina Reiche, will be taking place to deepen the Italian-German collaboration on the main European dossiers, also in view of the Rome Ministerial Forum on 10 December and the Italy-German bilateral summit in early 2026

. Urso will also meet the French Minister with delegation to Industry, Sébastien Martin, at their first confrontation after the formation of the new Paris government, and the Spanish Minister for Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, for coordination between the main economies of the continent in support of European industrial policy.
