ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “This year the National Health Service celebrates World Day of Mental Health with more solid instruments and a more modern vision, thanks to the National Strategic Plan of Actions on the topic that has been missing for thirteen years and that this government has strongly wanted, strengthening the ability of the system to respond effectively to the needs of people who live a condition of psychological discomfort.” The Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci.
“A Plan that is not limited to the management of the disease – the Minister continues – but focuses on early diagnosis, prevention and construction of an integrated network of interventions, with particular attention to young people, accompanying them in the delicate phase of transition towards adulthood, through the strengthening of services for childhood and adolescence and greater integration between school, health and social services”.
“Compit to the National Health Service is not to leave anyone on the edge, because mental health is a right that must be guaranteed to all, without discrimination. I thank the working table, chaired by Professor Alberto Syracuse, who is also working, as part of the implementation of the Plan, on a document on the topic of depression and one on the prevention of suicides. With this government mental health has returned to be a priority of health policies. A commitment we carry out every day because we care about the well-being of citizens and the growth of our nation,” Schillaci concludes.
