Women still and always in the sights

It has happened in these hours to a person I know well, who stimo and who has also collaborated with the publications directed by me in Mediaset. I am talking about Francesca Barra, writer and conductor, who denounced having discovered her image manipulated with artificial intelligence and networking. Without making patterns before the outcome of a judiciary iter, he was a man to let Francesca discover this serious thing that, as she herself said, compromises privacy, dignity and respect. But beyond the reports, it counts above all to denounce. The Barra is a woman committed publicly and also denounced as an act of moral exemplum for others. He also did so a young girl from Foggia, victim of revenge porn, who showed courage and confidence in herself and in the pollutants, who will soon find the or the responsible.

The chronicle, in these days, tells us more: unfortunately dramas in which the victims are not even physically saved. Two feminists in a short time only in Milan: the young and beautiful Pamela, stabbed by her fiancé, and Luciana, killed by her ex always pounded, in the middle of the street, in front of home. Public cameras got it all back. We saw blind violence.

The statistics concern me little, but I know, as a political journalist and a chronicler, that for years men close with the knife relationships in which they do not accept the freedom of choice of a woman. They choose the silence of death. This is the theme that scares and that the patriarchate and feminist ideological dialectic do not explain.

A month almost from the Day against violence on women, it makes us reflect this obsessive return of horror that invades relations of proximity and that, except in some rare case, sees us male negative protagonists.

In addition, and beyond the laws — of course necessary — we must again insist on cultural models. And also on the responsibilities not only of institutions, schools and families, but also of the media.

A series, always in these cursed days, about a famous and terrible Italian black chronicle story. We don’t name names, and we don’t make accusations. But it seemed to me that the journalistic reconstruction was less important than showing a certain image of the woman.

In a month.
