ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Unlike what happened four years ago, today we have more effective tools to counter speculation and choke the inflationary spiral that then made the purchasing power of families. By decree-law n.5 of 14 January 2023 we have established an effective monitoring system both on the fuel distribution network and on the entire value chain, also on the food chain, which allows us to intervene by activating, where necessary, the Guardia di Finanza and other control bodies. Also for this reason in 2024 and 2025 the fuel price remained at low levels, with positive effects also on inflation, which last year was just 1.5%, among the lowest in Europe”. Speaking in an interview with La Stampa, he is the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso.
“The Quick Alarm Committee – he adds – was activated promptly a week ago and we realized an operational task force in connection with the GdF. With the same decree of 2023 we have also foreseen the possibility to activate the mobile excise, where the growth exceeded the parameter indicated in the previous Nadef, in order to use the greater resources of the VAT to cut the excise or to compensate directly consumers and enterprises. Obviously, everything depends on the duration and extent of the conflict, which no one can predict.”
“We will intervene in time to reduce, as far as possible – continues – any impacts on families and businesses. Today we have the tools to do so; in the coming days we will define to what extent and with what resources”.
For Urso “Europe must change paradigm, immediately. It must be done by itself, ensuring its strategic autonomy. With regard to energy and critical raw materials, but also with regard to Defence and Space, the new frontiers of technology, starting with Ai and Quantum. The proposal of the “Made in Europe” contained in the Industrial Accelerator Act is a first step, but not enough. We must hurry, because war surrounds Europe. We must take note of reality. Or we will become irrelevant, to the mercy of others and their decisions.”
