Ukraine, Meloni “I am happy, it prevailed common sense”

BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) (ITALPRESS) – “I am pleased that it has prevailed the common sense, that it has managed to guarantee the resources that are necessary but to do so with a solution that has a solid foundation on the legal and financial level”. This was stated by the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, in Brussels, at the end of the European Council which decided to finance Kiev with a loan of 90 billion euros for 2026-27.

“I am satisfied with the results of this European Council in which I have brought the positions to which I was clearly bound by the parliamentary resolution, the position taken yesterday in Parliament, particularly on two issues which were more important to us. The first was to ensure the necessary support for Ukraine for the next two years, but to do so with a sustainable solution on the legal and financial level,” said the PM.
