ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The authors Eliana Liotta and Michela Matteoli sign “The radiant mind. The foods and thoughts that nourish the brain and risk life” (Sonzogno), a book that fascinatingly tells the dialogues between mind, brain, body and microbiota. An unpublished point of view, which starts from recent studies of neurosciences and approaches nascent disciplines such as nutritional psychiatry and neurometabolism.
From the book is the stage lectio of the autrici that will be held at the Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato in Milan Monday 4 May at 20.30. Journalist and essayist Eliana Liotta and neuroscientist Michela Matteoli propose a vision in line with recent discoveries: a mind embodied in the brain and in continuous dialogue with the body and with the intestinal microbiota. This material dimension deserves interest, starting from the feed.
From the analysis of scientific data it emerges that, on average, Italian and Italian are lacking of substances essential to the nervous system, such as omega-3 and vitamins B and D. We risk having brains malnutrited in an opulent society, and it is not surprising that the consequence have been anxious, sense of fatigue, sleeping disorders or difficulty of concentration. But minds are also hungry for feelings, spirituality, peace. They are creators of worlds that swamp in music, art, theaters, movies. And all these thoughts, experiences, emotions change us, physically. “Our brain changes while we live” write the authors. “And we can always try to become better people.”.
