The Farnesina creates a “Task Force Golfo” for Italians blocked in the Region

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – A meeting of foreign minister Antonio Tajani with ambassadors in Iran and the region is taking place at the Farnesina to assess the progress of the military operations of Israel and the United States. According to Farnesina, the minister has created a “Task Force Golfo” that will strengthen the work of the Crisis Unit and will support the commitment of embassies and consulates in the region to cope with the thousands of requests for assistance from the thousands of citizens blocked in the Gulf countries.

The Italian Government welcomed the collaboration that the Gulf governments and their airlines are offering blocked citizens, first of all offering assistance to stay in the hotel. The embassy in the Emirates and that in Qatar managed to move from airports to hotels all passengers waiting. At the moment there are no forecasts of reopening airports.

With regard to the presence of Italian students in Dubai under the “Dubai UN & Abu Dhabi Emirates 2026 – The Ambassador of the Future”, the Ministry of Education and Merit underlines in a note of being in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Embassy of Italy in the United Arab Emirates and the General Consulate of Italy in Dubai, which are constantly monitoring the case.

The consular authorities are working with utmost care to ensure assistance and support. The Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, is in close contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, for developments.

“I am in constant contact with boys and girls who for work are in Dubai, so we are accompanying them, we are trying to protect them and account that beyond the minister to whom I wish all the best, but all Italians in conditions of difficulty can return as soon as possible.” This was said by Vice-Premier and Minister Matteo Salvini, on the margin of an initiative in Florence. To the question whether he is in contact with the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, Salvini answered: “I heard it during the meetings we had yesterday.”.
