ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Artemisia Foundation, which has always been involved in the protection of women’s health and dignity, has participated today in the conference “The Bloom Surgery Foundation was born at the service of women’s health and dignity – Beyond the MGF: four-hand surgery for the recovery of psychophysical harmony”, held in the afternoon at the Sala della Regina della Camera dei Deputati.
The Foundation, led by President Mariastella Giorlandino, has firmly supported the initiative, recognizing its ethical, clinical and social value. In her speech, Mariastella Giorlandino recalled the ongoing commitment of the Artemisia Foundation to support women victims of violence, stalking and overfeiting, and in particular in the protection and care paths aimed at women who have suffered or risk suffering female genital mutilation.
He also urged synergistic work between institutions, health, third sector and educational world: a commitment that must unite reception, prevention, even through education in schools — as provided by the programs of the Artemisia Lab Academy — and clinical and psychological reconstruction, to accompany women towards full psychophysical rebirth. The conference, promoted by the Bloom Surgery Foundation, presented an innovative integrated model of intervention for the reconstruction and recovery of psychophysical harmony of women victims of MGF.
Among the main speakers were Simone Moroni and Danilo Dodero, who illustrated the “four-handed” surgical protocol, aimed at ensuring maximum interventional appropriateness and an integrum restitution as complete as possible.
In the course of the work was also read the message of Massimo AbdAllah Cozzolino, Secretary General of the Italian Islamic Confederation, sent by Mariastella Giorlandino. Cozzolino expressed his appreciation of the initiative, recalling that Islamic belief is based on respect, freedom of choice and the certainty that no person should be offended or mistreated in any way.
The initiative highlighted the need for a joint, continuous and structured commitment, capable of combining clinical skills, institutional responsibility, cultural awareness and educational paths.
The fight against FGM and the protection of female dignity require a solid and coordinated network, able to guarantee protection, care and opportunities for protection and rebirth to girls and women at risk MGF or who have immediately MGF. The conference confirmed the strength of this shared commitment and the desire to continue with determination on a path of civilization, health and rights.
