Tajani “Free Offenses to unacceptable Meloni, but relations with the US must continue”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “It is unacceptable for us that there are free offenses to the President of the Council, but we must ensure that the transatlantic relations continue to be supported and developed: we are allies of the United States not because there is a president or another, but because we are two faces of the same coin called the West.” This is underlined by the vice-premier and foreign minister Antonio Tajani during the third edition of Il giorno de La Verità.

“We cannot think of dividing the West, indeed we work so that it is more and more united in the face of the great challenges that there are, like the confrontation with Russia, China and India – Tajani continues. We do not go anywhere alone: we need the United States, but the United States also need us as Europe and as Italy. I have canceled the mission in the United States to give a political signal, but we will continue to work on all transatlantic dossiers: I don’t think Trump has talked about tightening up duties, because our products have continued to be among the most sold on American soil. Breaking with Italy does not suit anyone, but I think the United States does not want to do so: we do our duty and continue to work with them as allies.”.
