ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The National Federation of Orders of Technical Health Care, Rehabilitation and Prevention (Fno Tsrm and Pstrp), together with those of Chimici e Fisici, Medici e Veterinari, had asked for a corrective to the Parliament. The novelty is in the new paragraph 3 of Article 31 of the DPR 328/2001, which attributes to the list of professional activities of the Biologists only a “recognitive” value of skills already provided by the legislation.
In practice the activities must be exercised “from the biological point of view”, taking into account the interdisciplinaryness with the other professions and firm remaining the professional attributes provided by the legislation in force. The formulation coincides with the approach indicated by the State Council, which had warned of the risk of confusion and litigation between Orders.
The Fno Tsrm and Pstrp reiterates that the most sensitive points are those in which the activities of the Biologists touch competences already recognized by law to the Biomedical Laboratory Medical Technicians, to the Technicians of prevention in the environment and in the workplace and to the Dietisti, fearing overcrowding and overlaying.
“The clause goes in the direction we indicated. It is on the clarity of the roles that rest the safety of assisted persons and the quality of performance. Every health professional must be able to continue doing what the law recognizes him, without grey areas”, says Diego Catania, president of the Fno Tsrm and Pstrp. “The main road is the comparison and dialogue, between the professions and the institutions, to build together clear and shared rules, to guarantee the safety and quality of care,” concludes Catania.
