PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – “We are gathered from the south to the north of Italy to present the reasons for yes among people: we are fighting together a great battle of freedom.” The vice-premier and foreign minister Antonio Tajani in connection with Noi vote yes, organized by Forza Italia at Villa Malfitano in Palermo.
“The magistrates who say they vote are likely to make some enemies within the currents – Tajani continues, – contrary to what Gratteri says, we don’t have to deal with anyone. We must adapt the judicial system of our country to the times of democracy: we absolutely do not want public ministries under the control of the executive, but the exact opposite. Those who administer justice must do so in the supreme interest of each individual citizen: we want to restore sacredness to the toga, because if it is pulled on one side and on the other by current interests is no longer above the parties. At the same time we want every magistrate, like citizens, to be subjected to a judgment when making mistakes: each one of us is wrong and if he does it is sanctioned, we do not understand why a magistrate does not be sanctioned; the law must be equal for all, but who judges a magistrate cannot be the same that promotes it,” Tajani added.
“If the culprit is out and the innocent is in jail there is something wrong – subtle as the leader of Forza Italia –: this reform must put those who are wrong to assume their responsibilities; whoever enters a courtroom must feel untied but free to be judged. To vote yes means to give a positive message: in this campaign it has happened that stronger tones have been used, but never in my life I told someone ‘we do the accounts after the election result’, nor do I get intimidated by those who say this and I am sorry that to say it is an anti-Camorra magistrate. The people must judge this reform, the government will be judged next year.”.
