Referendum, Crosetto “Un terno al lotto, but will not impact the government”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “This is a referendum that wins with common sense, with moderation, with reasoning. It is a matter of explaining to people that you have to inform. We must remain on merit.” So the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, in an interview with the Corriere della Sera.

“Seeing justice is not a political choice between factions,” adds the minister, explaining that “if you go to vote the majority of Italians would win yes. I’m convinced. But I am also convinced that very few people will vote because people do not want to inform themselves, because they may not understand the merits. The referendums have very low levels of participation. And so it becomes a hymn to the lot because while there is a very strong and very ideological push for the no, yes has a liberal push and the liberals normally are much less. I don’t know how it ends. That’s why I say: we don’t have to politicize it.”.

To the question whether a no success would not affect the stability of the government, Crosetto says: “No. Because he did not sign us, this is not one of the historical battles of Giorgia Meloni: it is a necessary reform, according to all of us, for the country. But it is not the thing on which the life of the Meloni government is played, it is one of the many things to change in Italy according to the district and we will see if the citizens will agree”.
