Piantedosi presents the security plan in Genoa, fixed police place in the center and housing for the agents

GENOVA (ITALPRESS) – A fixed police station in the historic center of Genoa, accommodation for agents and 1,16 million additional resources to hire and pay extraordinary to the local police. These are the news announced today by the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi and the mayor Silvia Salis on the edge of the provincial committee for the order and public security that took place in prefecture.

“It was a fruitful encounter – said Piantedosi –. We have projected in the near future for further signs of attention to this important city. We will make systematic high-impact services that will be carried out daily with the addition of resources, supporting the activity of the mobile team or with ‘falchi’ units, staff trained to intervene in such complicated contexts. In Genoa we have destined between 2025 and 2026 approximately 860 units of police forces that have filled practically all the imposing turnover. Today we have 154 staff units in more than we recorded at 31 December 2024′′′.

“The request of the city of Genoa came to the heart of the ministry that put on the ground a very important project – commented Salis -. We are close to all the traders and all the inhabitants of the old town, we listened to their cry of help and we brought it back to the ministry that today is here to make a common plan”. The police place will be in Via Prè, one of the most critical places of the Genoese caruggi. On the other hand, regarding the accommodation “we will leave immediately with a wide-ranging search throughout the historic center”, concluded Salis.
