New National Strategy for Health and Safety at Work, Schillaci “Reducing accidents and deaths drastically”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Today the “National Strategy on Health and Safety in Workplaces 2026-2030” has been approved at the meeting of the Committee responsible for directing and coordinating the supervision of health and safety at work, chaired by the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci. The Strategy, in line with the Strategic Framework of the European Union 2021-2027 and with the national context, defines a clear path to address the challenges of a rapidly changing world of work. It integrates with the new National Plan of Prevention 2026-2031 and with the initiatives of other bodies involved in health and safety at work, ensuring a coordinated and synergistic approach.

“The approval of this document is the result of the collaboration between ministries, regions, Inail, National Labour Inspectorate and social partners – declares Minister Schillaci – The main objective is clear and ambitious: drastically reduce accidents and deaths, adopting the Vision Zero approach, according to which every accident is preventable.”.

The minister also recalled the various initiatives put in place in recent years including the approval of the recent decree law that introduced further urgent measures for the protection of health and safety on workplaces also in the key to prevention and promotion of health and measures to counter aggression to health workers. The National Strategy is based on five strategic axes: address work changes, strengthen the resilience of the institutional system, enhance the overalls, support MPMI and spread the culture of prevention from schools.
