ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Associations of the transporters of the Albo after the meeting yesterday in Milan with the Minister Salvini “ urgently require a decisive and immediate intervention of the Minister Piantedosi to remove the presidi that for days are blocking the South with now no longer sustainable impacts both for the sector itself, and for the system of supply to the whole community, seriously penalizing citizens and enterprises”. The associations report it, in a joint note, adding that “Continuing to block the country is no longer justifiable after the government reopened the dialogue with the category and assumed important commitments in continuity with the understanding of Palazzo Chigi to recognize immediate liquidity to the enterprises of road haulage and identify the necessary measures to face the current situation. The Associations of the Albo, with a great sense of responsibility towards the country and the companies that represent, continue to consider the comparison the only possible way to face with realism the current emergency”. “Forms of protest with road blocks and threats that prevent the free movement of goods and people not only produce no results for the category, severely damaged also in the image, but end up further compromising the already delicate economic situation,” the note concludes.
SALVINI “SBLOCCATI FONDI PER 1 MILIARDO”
“More than 1 billion funds have been unlocked for help against expensive fuel for transporters, from March to October. We have managed to cover a huge effort, and I do not think that in Europe other governments have managed to do just as much, 70% of the greatest costs; therefore, with a fixed price of oil for those who use it for work. The goal is to arrive at the end of the year hoping that these two cursed wars will end. But from today, after a job lasted weeks, and 32 thousand questions arrived, payments begin for almost half a billion. It is something important. In addition to this, 590 million will be added to transporters that change the means.” So the deputypremier and minister of the Transports, Matteo Salvini, to Radio I too on Rai Radio1.
“Even today there are total blocks, I met the institutionalcronyms and small and very small representatives because it is my duty to listen to everyone. We are close to those who work because we understand the suffering, but other things are the illegal blocks and damage millions of other workers: producers, farmers, agents of commerce, fishermen and commuters, those who were blocked today on the A1 in Salerno for illegal blocks, here we talk about another issue, we talk about illegality,” he added.
PROTESTE AUTOTRASPORTO, SU A1 CHIUSO NODO A30 CASERTA-SALERNO
It does not stop the protest of the transporters in Campania. At about 7:00 a.m., on the A1 Milan-Napoli the knot was temporarily closed with the A30 Caserta-Salerno for those coming from Rome, because of an event that is affecting the highway headquarters.
PRESIDI AL CASELLO DI TREMESTIERI A MESSINA
It does not stop the protest of the transporters to the highway of Tremestieri, in Messina, where also this morning the tir are still present after the meeting yesterday with the minister of Infrastructures and the Transports, Matteo Salvini. Some self-transporters were dissatisfied with the outcome of the confrontation and decided to continue the mobilization to obscurity, waiting for an agreement.
The protest in Sicily is divided on two opposing positions. On the one hand the truck drivers intend to continue the blockade until they reach an agreement, on the other the members of the Cts, who would like to resume their work but denounce a climate of coercion in the island, claiming that they cannot return to work in the current conditions. The solution of the dispute remains uncertain, while the presidium at the Tremestieri toll continues and developments are expected in the coming hours.
CODACONS “DENUNCEREMO I SINGOLI AUTOTRASPORTATORI”
“If the road blocks are not removed today, the Codacons will call the individual transporters and organizations that are supporting the protests to respond to the damage caused to the community and road blockades, public service interruption and private violence.” So the Codacons in a note. “We immediately shared the reasons for the protest, but in the face of the commitments made by the government and the appropriations announced in favor of the category, the road blocks that are also putting on their knees some regions seem completely unjustified and represent an evident illicit harm to the community – explains the Codacons – The protest of the transporters is in fact causing unequalities to the population, not only blocking the road traffic but also causing deficiencies”. “For this reason, if the road blocks are not removed by the present day, the Codacons will present a series of complaints to the Procure of the Republic territorially competent, requesting to identify the individual self-transporters author of the protests and proceeding towards them and to the trade unions involved in road blockage crimes, private violence and public service interruption,” he concludes.
FEDERDISTRIBUZIONE “A RISCHIO CHIUSURA PUNTI VENDITA”
Federdistribuzione took note with favor of the results of the table that took place yesterday between the Minister of Infrastructures and the Transports, Matteo Salvini, and the associations of the road haulage, which allowed to identify a first series of solutions in order to respond to the difficulties of a field strongly affected by the increase of the fuel costs. However, there remains a strong critical situation in the regions of South Italy, in particular in Puglia, Calabria and Campania, where the blocking of the circulation of goods not only continues, but in many territories it is further worsening. Deliveries are under heavy repercussions and, in many cases, goods are blocked in distribution centres without being able to reach the points of sale. The consequences are particularly serious for perishable products, many of which are now unusable, with increasing economic damage and an unacceptable waste of food. The situation is generating major inconveniences for supermarkets and retail outlets, which record increasingly widespread shortages of products on shelves. If this condition persists further, the risk is that of having to suspend the activity of numerous commercial exercises, with inevitable repercussions also on the workers involved. The criticisms also concern the entire agri-food chain.
Many agricultural producers are in fact encountering enormous difficulties in giving their crops and, in many cases, they risk losing entire production because of the impossibility of transporting them to the target markets. “We are faced with a situation that cannot continue. Essential services are at risk for citizens, families and businesses. Despite the full respect of the reasons for the protest and the difficulties that the field of the road haulage is facing, it is essential that those blocks which, acting outside the rules, prevent the free movement of goods and compromise the regular functioning of the distribution network. The hope is that the sense of responsibility prevails on the part of all the parties involved and that the intervention of the preposted institutions quickly create the conditions for the restoration of conditions of legality and full operativity of the logistic network, avoiding further economic and social damage”, says Carlo Alberto Buttarelli, President of Federdistribuzione.
