CATANIA (ITALPRESS) – An intense afternoon at Garibaldi-Nesima on the occasion of “Natale a Nesima con i nata classe 2025”, an appointment now symbol of sharing, humanity and sense of community. The initiative, coming to the twenty-second edition, combines music, animation, Christmas witches and sweet scents for a party that has seen absolute protagonists children and their families. Hundreds of wheelchairs paraded between applause and smiles, giving one of the most suggestive moments of the afternoon. An image able to tell, better than any word, the profound meaning of the initiative: celebrate birth, birth and life. The Materno-Infantile Department of the Arnas Garibaldi, directed by Professor Giuseppe Ettore, creator and organizer of the event, wanted to celebrate symbolically together with all the health staff the over two thousand children born in the garrison during 2025, with volunteer associations and the many citizens who chose to participate in the Christmas toast. For the occasion, the Hall of Endocrinology of Garibaldi-Nesima has become a great Christmas stage, animated by musicians and animators who have created a warm and engaging atmosphere. To lead and accompany the different moments of the afternoon was the television conductor Sara Putrino. Alongside Professor Ettore, the company’s leadership was: the general manager of the Arnas Garibaldi, Giuseppe Giammanco, the administrative director Carmelo Ferrara and the health director Mauro Sapienza. He also received many greetings, including the prefect of Catania, Pietro Signoriello, the president of the Tribunal for Minorenni, Roberto Di Bella, the vicar of the Etnaean Quander, Giuseppe Anzalone, the provincial commander of the Guardia di Finanza, General Marco Filipponi, the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri, General Salvatore Altavilla, the curator of the studies, Emilio moneli, and the representative of the archbishop Vincenzo Maisign Also present in this edition Senator Enzo Bianco. “All the authorities intervened expressed unanimous sharing and particular appreciation for the initiative of the Arnas Garibaldi to work on a structured project aimed at the protection of minors against all forms of violence, recognizing its high social, educational and institutional value,” reads in a note. In his speech, Professor Giuseppe Ettore strongly recalled the theme of child protection, stressing that birth and care cannot be disconnected from protection: “Celebrating life also means defending it every day. Protecting children is a collective duty and the hospital has a central responsibility on this path. Through the TIMMI Center, which will be active in the coming months, our presidium will be engaged in the front line in prevention and contrast to violence on children, offering listening, care and a network of concrete support to victims and their families. Events like this remind us that every child has the right not only to be born, but to grow in safety and dignity”. On the same line the words of the Director General Giuseppe Giammanco, who emphasized the identity value of the initiative: “This feast represents the soul of the Arnas Garibaldi. We are not just a health company, but a community that takes care of people at 360 degrees. Investing in children, their health and their protection means investing in the future of the territory.” During the afternoon there were moments of strong emotional intensity, with the tale of stories of courage and resilience: mothers who have faced difficult pregnancy, premature babies who have struggled since the early moments of life, health professionals who have accompanied each step with competence and dedication. Storiesdifferent, joined by a single conductor thread: the strength and quality of life.
