Not a new mission, therefore, but repositioning within an already planned and authorized area of existing capacity and no longer able to operate from Kuwait.” So in a note the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto.
“In the meantime, the government reported several times to the Chambers: March 2, March 5 and May 13. The Foreign and Defence Ministers were audited on 9 June, the Chief of Staff of Defense on 17 June and the COVI Commander on 1 July, in front of the competent Commissions – he continues. Faced with this institutional path, to argue that Parliament was in the dark is not a criticism to the government but or the confession of not following the hearings and not reading the acts or not understanding what you voted for.”.
“Every Member has the right and duty to challenge the decisions of the Government. However, he does not have the right to change the facts, to deform reality to throw heavy but false accusations. The information there were, were public, were illustrated in the institutional offices and were the subject of parliamentary deliberations – Crosetto concludes. On issues concerning national security, a comparison based on seriousness and pacacity would be desirable, a comparison of merit. Feeding controversy by hypothesized omissions, denied by parliamentary acts, may serve propaganda, but does not make good service to the country. But what makes a service even worse is the use of deliberately heavy and offensive insults.”.
