SIRACUSA (ITALPRESS) – The Syracuse Asp marks a decisive change in mental health management and pathological dependencies, focusing on a model of assistance that combines cutting-edge technologies and integrated territorial governance. As Rosario Pavone, director of the Mental Health Department explains, “the company strategy incorporates the principles of the National Plan 2025/2030 to promote multidisciplinary care paths that overcome the logic of isolated intervention. In this regard, the actions of the Department focus on individual therapeutic projects supported by the Health Budget: a key tool that has already allowed the start of individual therapeutic projects for patients aimed at their occupational inclusion through collaboration with the Third Sector and Local Authorities”. This commitment is accompanied by the Provincial Network against addictions, coordinated by Ernesto De Bernardis, who sets up public and private actors for timely interventions on psychic suffering and the abuse of substances. On the operational level, the strengthening of the structures is the protagonist of the new Center of Ready Reception of the Trigona Hospital of Noto, of which is Gaetano Mauceri, born to respond to the crack emergency. The structure, which has 12 beds, is designed for a short stay aimed at clinical stabilization. Access to the Centre is via signalling the SerT of the territory, guaranteeing an immediate takeover. The company also invested in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, an innovative technique that acts on the compulsive desire typical of addictions and gambling, offering effective solutions even in the most complex cases. The commitment of the Asp extends, finally, to the support of the caregiver with the project “Famiglie in Rete” of the National Programme of Equity in Health. Thanks to the hiring of new psychologists and social workers, the initiative aims to break the isolation of family members, offering them emotional support and groups of self-immune help to manage daily discomfort in the home. The aim of the company is to make Syracuse a participated health laboratory, maintaining access to the Services for Drug Addictions and Health Centres direct and free to break down every barrier between institution and citizen.
