ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The reform of the Development and Cohesion Fund, which led to the creation of a new instrument, the Coesion Agreements, “allowed us to positively close the 2014-2020 cycle, guaranteeing the total absorption of the funds allocated and carrying out approximately 700 thousand projects. Then, with the first revision of the Pnrr, we introduced the reform of cohesion policies co-financed by European funds, to better coordinate the different financing lines and focus them on strategic sectors. We have built a model oriented to the results, which will improve the quality of expenditure and impact more effectively on the development of the territories and the quality of life of people. In particular, in the South, where 80% of the resources of European and national cohesion are destined and to which we have also addressed specific incentives to support the employment of young people and women”. Thus the premier Giorgia Meloni, in a video message sent to the seminar “Coesione Italia – Italy of the communities, Europe of the territories – Numbers, stories, future” which took place at the Chamber.
“Parallelamente – he added -, we worked with the Regions and autonomous Provinces to sign the cohesion agreements planned for the 2021-2027 cycle and, in a year, we closed them all and 21, freeing more than 45 billion investments. To which they are departed by adding agreements with the central administrations. In other words, the paradigm has totally changed. The empty and remaining programmes on the paper of the past have given way to a clear and concrete strategy, which invests in works and interventions that really serve the enterprises, the families and the territories of this nation. In these three years we have laid the foundations for a total reversal of course, certified also by the main institutions (Istat, Banca d’Italia, Svimez), which have recorded for three consecutive years a level of growth of the South higher than that of the North Center”. For Meloni “our goal is clear: build a stronger Italy, a more united and cohesive Italy”.
