ROMA (ITALPRESS) – According to the sources of Palazzo Chigi, following the interlocutions started personally by the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, with the heads of Ericsson, the company decided to withdraw the procedure of collective dismissal that involved 131 workers and workers of the headquarters of Genoa.
The dispute was born of Ericsson’s decision to initiate a procedure of collective dismissal in the context of a process of corporate reorganization, causing concern for occupational relapses and for the prospects of the technological and research presidio present in Genoa.
In the face of the political instrumentation that developed around the story, with the risk of feeding tensions on the skin of the workers – emphasize the same sources -, the President of the Council intervened personally, calling to the CEO of Ericsson, Andrea Missori. The company’s decision to withdraw the procedure has emerged from the interview, giving rise to a responsible solution that allows to open a new phase of dialogue on the industrial and employment prospects of Ericsson in Italy.
The decision of the Group, confirmed by the same managing director during the confrontation between the company and the government, represents according to the sources of Palazzo Chigi an important step to overcome the current phase of difficulty and look to the perspectives of the site of Genoa and the group in Italy. The Government will continue to follow the evolution of the situation, with the aim of protecting qualified employment and enhancing the skills and technological heritage present in the national territory.
