RIMINI (ITALPRESS) – “I am very opposed to any hypothesis of extra profit, taxes. I mean, when I hear the word ‘taxes’, I get hives. A comparison, a contribution is right to be given, as we have done with banks, with insurance. There must be an agreed confrontation”, one can “require a contribution at a difficult time also by companies in the sector, but I do not want to hear the word ‘extra profited that knows much about the Soviet Union“. This is said by the vice-premier and foreign minister, Antonio Tajani, arriving at the Meeting in Rimini.
“It’s a ‘extravaid’ word. An agreed contribution seems to me something right, we have always supported it – he adds. At the time of difficulty, everyone must contribute to the solution of the problems, but an account is contributing with an agreement, an account is to break down the mannaia of the taxes; I am against the increase of the fiscal pressure, our mantra is ‘less taxes, less taxes, less tax. Taxes are like gramme, they are a negative element and they must be extinguished anyway”.
On fuels, in the Council of Ministers of this afternoon “the decision already adopted at the last Council is extended, the time necessary to prepare a substantial intervention that can also be structural”, he recalls. “With regard to the energy aspect we are also working” to “all the proposals we will have to make to the European Commission; thanks to the disposition that we have obtained with the possibility of using these 14 billion, I think we can do very positive things that go in reducing energy costs towards families and enterprises. But those funds cannot be used to cut excise duties, they need structural intervention. At the same time we work so that we can recompose the international situation, because it is not a responsibility neither of Italy nor of Europe if the cost of oil, gas and fertilizer increases. There are ongoing wars, there is a crisis in Hormuz and the key to the problem is there,” Tajani concludes.
