ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The contacts of the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, with the leaders of the Middle East region, continued today, starting from telephone conversations with the King of Jordan and the Sultan of Oman, which are added to the numerous contacts already had in yesterday’s day with the remaining authorities of the Gulf nations. President Meloni also had talks with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, as the European Union’s turn-over presidency.
The President of the Council therefore referred to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, updating it fully on the developments of the situation and on the intercourse contacts.
In parallel, the constant coordination with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, continues with regard to the situation of resident and transiting compatriots in the region, “to which the call for maximum prudence is renewed and to observe the indications that come from the crisis unit of the Farnesina”.
