MILAN (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of the International Day of Awareness on the studs of 22 October 2026, the Commission of Albo Logopaedists of the Order TSRM and PSTRP of Milan, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza Brianza and Sondrio celebrates a precious opportunity to spread knowledge on the stuttering and to promote actions of help and support towards the people who balbettano and their caregiver. “The role of Logopedist is fundamental since prevention,” says the President of the Commission of Albo, Alessia Zanini.
“With close collaboration with families, educational figures and pediatricians, the Logopedist can identify for a long time, through screening tools and subsequent logopedic evaluation, children at the risk of cronicization, i.e. more likely to continue to stutter over time, in order to start a proper grip.”.
Adds the President of the Order, Diego Catania: “The contribution of the Logopedist is central to activate timely and effective rehabilitation paths. For this reason it is always essential to rely on graduate and qualified professionals, with specialist skills that allow early recognition of the difficulties and trained to recognize the needs of children and families”.
Comment Francesca Todaro, Logopedist enrolled in the Order: “The logopedic evaluation can use different tools for different age groups in order to meet a functional diagnosis of stuttering, crucial from preschool age. The subsequent takeover may be of an indirect nature, i.e. in collaboration with the caregiver of reference, or direct, with the patient, and is aimed at promoting a communication attitude and a positive emotional experience with respect to his own way of speaking, preventing the implementation of communication renunces”.
“The worn-out bear can be possible for people who are stuttering all age groups, starting from specific needs and taking into account the relative contexts of life (family, social, educational, working)” says Annamaria Zambarbieri, Logopedista enrolled at the Order. “This day is an opportunity to raise awareness of public opinion, lowering the stigma, false myths and devalued attitudes towards stuttering and promoting a positive culture towards people who are babbling.”.
The Commission of Albo Logopedisti of Milan, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza Brianza and Sondrio recalls that the stuttering is never, as sometimes mistakenly we think, a question of “slowness” or “willingness”, but a real disorder, and that it is always possible to find their own time and their way to communicate.
