Is it possible to increase fuel production? “I think so – Urso replies – much more than in recent years we have preserved the Italian refineries, while others in Europe continued to close them: just highlight what we have done to safeguard the first Italian refinery, the Isab di Priolo, with the first decree of the law and now accompany it in the return in Italian hands. The same we did, exercising with wisdom the golden power, in the passage of ownership of Saras and IP. I would add that we are ahead of other European countries also with regard to biorefineries. Soon we will also inaugurate the construction site of Eni Versalis in Priolo”.
And to the question whether it was myopic to reduce the number of plants in Europe, Urso responds: “Yes. Others have done so, we have defended what we had, also because we understood before others that energy and economic security becomes prevalent in a world where the conflict prevails.”.
