Fountain in Seoul meets the Italian Catholic community and diplomatic staff

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – During the institutional mission in Seoul, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, met the staff of the Embassy of Italy and, at the feast of Ognissanti, the Italian Catholic community.

“You are the face of Italy in Korea. Seeing your work and enthusiasm of many young people who love our country is a reason for joy and pride,” said Fontana in the Embassy, thanking Ambassador Emilia Gatto and the whole Italy system for the commitment to strengthening cultural and economic relations with a country of great importance especially for technological development. In this regard, Fontana will be discussing tomorrow with Hae Min Lee, Senior Secretary for Artificial Intelligence and Planning for the future of the Presidency of the Republic of Korea and a bilateral meeting with the President of the South Korean National Assembly, Cho Jeong-sik, in the seat of the Korean Parliament.

After Mass in the church of St. Francis, the President of the House brought his greetings this morning to a representation of the Italian Catholic community. A special thank you addressed him to Father Giancarlo Faldani, a native of Cittadella (Padua) and for 57 years in Korea, and to Father Vincenzo Bordo, known for having founded welcome houses and meals distribution services to people in difficulty, a commitment also recognized by local authorities. “Testimons of faith in a distant land, to which my gratitude goes for the works, for the service to the communities, for the common good”, said the President of the House.

In the country there are several million Christians, with a widespread presence on the territory. The next year in Seoul is the World Youth Day.
