Ex Ilva, via libera dal Cdm a decree law for the continuity of the plants. To Genoa loose the road block

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – A free way of the Council of Ministers to the decree-law that introduces urgent measures to ensure the continuation of the productive activities of the former Ilva plants, to protect the workers and recognize compensation to the territory. Among the novelties, the decree authorizes Acciaierie d’Italia S.p.A. in extraordinary administration to use the 108 million residuals of the financing bridge – resources indispensable to guarantee the continuity of the plants – until February 2026, the date on which the conclusion of the procedure of contest for the identification of the Adjuster is expected. The remaining 92 million funding has already been earmarked for essential interventions on blast furnaces, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, environmental investments related to the new AIA and the Residence Plan. On the front of the workers, the decree provides additional 20 million for the two-year period 2025-2026, allowing the State to take charge of the integration up to 75% of the treatment of CIGS, so far supported directly by ADI.

The measure also intervenes on the Fund for compensation to property owners of the Tamburi district, allowing the remaining sums of 2025 to be used to supplement the partial compensations referred to the applications submitted the previous year. Finally, ADI is recognised as a compensation for contributions to energy-intensive enterprises (energy-intensive), in particular for discounts on energy supplies and ETS shares.

A GENOVA SCIOLTO IL BLOCCO STRADALE

The workers of the former Genoa Ilva decided to dissolve the road block in Cornigliano after the formalization of the convocation of the table in Rome on 28 November, arrived during the meeting in prefecture in the presence of the president of the Marco Bucci Region and the mayor Silvia Salis. “We will resume working tomorrow morning at 6.00 pm – said Armando Palombo of Rsu Fiom Cgil –. We have many ideas in the head: that less money is lost, that they invest in order to bring the job to Genoa, because there is so much need”. A victory for Genoa? “No, they are never victories. They’re ahead of a stalemate situation. At least we have the opportunity to clarify our ideas, because today I am confused”. Immediately after the assembly the protesters put themselves to work to clean up the road where gazebos, tents, bonfires and field kitchens had been mounted to spend the night and shelter from the cold. In the evening the big machinery brought to court yesterday morning to the streets of the city will return to the factory.
