Ensuring Privacy, the College “You know the request for employee data control”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “In relation to some media reconstructions,” the Board of the Data Controller reiterates “its extraneity to the request for employee data, relating to the use of computer systems”. The College, on 23 October 2025, “was exclusively limited to instructing the Secretary General to conduct the necessary checks in relation to a possible escape of confidential information”, explains a note.

“The communication of the former Secretary General of 4 November 2025 and the answer of the Director of Information Systems of 5 November 2025, transmitted through confidential protocols – which ensured the accessibility of communications exclusively to sender and recipient – was not made known to the members of the College. Subsequently, during the meeting of 13 November, the former Secretary General informed the College of his request sent to the Manager to access employee emails.”.

The College “has, therefore, reported to the Secretary General the disproportionate and illicit nature of the request”. The Secretary General, therefore, pointed out to the College that “the Director of the Department of Information Systems had already anticipated the refusal to follow the request considering it unlawful. The actual contents of the letter of the former Secretary-General and the response of the computer systems manager were known only yesterday, 20 November 2025, during the staff meeting. In the light of the reconstruction of the facts – the note concludes – the College reaffirms the unfoundedness of the understandable concerns expressed by the staff of the Authority during the assembly of yesterday”.
