NEW YORK (USA) (ITALPRESS) – Strengthen the collaboration between Italy and the United States to improve the quality of life, autonomy and inclusion of people with autism. It is the goal of the seminar “New Horizons for the inclusion and well-being of People with Autism”, hosted at the headquarters of the Italian Trade Agency in New York.

The initiative, promoted by the Minister for Disability Alessandra Locatelli along with The Center for Discovery, was born from the Memorandum of Understanding signed last February and aims to share some of the best Italian and American experiences.

The Trade Commissioner of the ICE in New York Erica Di Giovancarlo and the Italian Consul General Giuseppe Pastorelli took part.

At the centre of work, health and proper nutrition, management of complex behavioral issues, autonomy and work inclusion.

“We have worked with the The Center of Discovery over the theme of autism in recent years – Locatelli explained. This conference and also what was held in Italy want to be a meeting point, deepening and exchange of good practices. I am convinced that we must work together to exploit the important path that the The Center of Discovery has done in these years and also what Italy is doing.”.

“We intend to work side by side with the Italian government and with the Minister. The challenges related to autism are complex and do not concern a single country or a single discipline – explained The Center for Discovery, CEO Theresa Hamlin -. You need to join forces. We have found great openness and willingness to share ideas from the government and the Minister.”.
