ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Secretary General of the Data Protection Authority, Angelo Fanizza, resigned. “The College of the Guarantor, in taking note of it, thanks the secretary general for the work done”, reads in a note.

In relation to the news of the press reported today, the College of the Guarantor for the protection of personal data states “its total extraneity regarding the communication signed by the former Secretary General – to which, moreover, has never been followed – concerning a request for data of employees relating to the use of computer systems”. The Guarantor recalls that “as from his constant jurisprudence, access by the employer to certain personal data of employees relating to the use of computer systems may constitute a violation of privacy.”.
