GENOVA (ITALPRESS) – In Liguria have grown by 42% compared to last year bookings for flu vaccine, through the different channels available. On October 30, 28.959 people who booked the appointment for vaccination via pharmacies or CUP, compared to 20,445 registered in the same period of 2024. In detail, bookings made through pharmacies have passed from 15,278 to 20,755, while those via other channels (CUP, portal, call center) have risen from 5.167 to 8,204. This year the Liguria Region has decided to extend the gratuitousness of the flu vaccine to all age groups, a measure that has favoured a wide and transversal membership. At the same time, the vaccination centers have been increased and the communication campaign has been strengthened to ensure the maximum possible coverage and to minimize the consequences of the influence – especially in the elderly and fragile – containing the impact on first aid during the peak period.
“The extension of free vaccine to all Ligurian citizens is giving very positive results – explains the Councillor for Health Massimo Nicolò –. Eliminating each economic barrier means offering everyone the opportunity to protect themselves, regardless of age or condition. The increase of 42% of reservations shows that when prevention becomes even more accessible, the response of citizens is strong and responsible. We will continue on this road, strengthening the vaccination network and promoting the culture of prevention as a tool for public health protection. ”
